The Texas District In Their Own Words

The Texas District of the LCMS released a short video explaining what the Texas District does. Here it is in its entirety, in their own words:

Hi everyone. This is Ben Gonzalez. I’m the Area B Mission Strategist for the Texas District. And I’m excited to come to you today to help answer a question of what is the Texas District? The vision of the Texas District is to catalyze a exponential mission movement here in Texas. To walk together, to work together, to support each other. And it’s our heart’s desire to come alongside and walk with leaders, whether they’re pastors or DCEs or church planters to come alongside and work together in catalyzing that mission movement.

Well, what is catalyzing a mission movement? We believe it is disciples that are making disciples and churches that are planting churches. So the heart of the Texas District is to walk together in supporting one another in how we form disciples that make disciples. So our heart is to come alongside you and your ministries, and in your context, because we know every context is different. We want to come along and support you in that specific context, whether it’s a church or it’s a new ministry or it’s a school or it’s a new mission endeavor. To come alongside you and to help make disciples that make disciples, so that new churches can be planted and those churches can plant new churches.
