Belated Diwali Blessings...
…to all of our brethren who think the idea of striving to live in a Christian nation is a bad thing, and who think diversity is our strength. We now have mainstream Republicans and Democrats wishing us a Happy Diwali.
And if some of our confessional Lutheran brethren get what they are asking for, their kids will be having Diwali parties at school, government offices will close, and our capitols across the United States will have cow dung displays. Of course, this is far better than having a nation and society that reflects Christian mores, holidays, and folkways. That would be racist.
And, of course, cow worship is biblical, as well as religious diversity.

Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on Diwali with Lord Ganesh. We have already talked about Lord Ganesh in detail. Other than this, symbols like Shri, Om, Swastika have their own significance in the pooja. So, lets talk about it in detail starting with Goddess Lakshmi.
So what’s a little goddess-worship between friends? Just be sure to respect diversity, and oppose laws that recognize the cultural, legal, and natural law preferences for Christianity. And the best way to honor the spirit of Diwali is for Christians to practice contraception, open the borders, and make sure we make everyone feel welcome.
And its not too late for all of us to have a little Diwali celebration at home!
