Here at Gottesdienst we strive to bring back the liturgical practices, the rites and ceremonies, that have always been part of the Western liturgical tradition retained by the Reformers of the sixteenth century. And in so doing, we often here the charge, "That's Catholic" or "That's Romanist," or some other comment meant to poison the well. 

The Western Rite and the ceremonies that go with it, as it's been received in the Lutheran Church, have already been vetted. We've had that battle: been there, done that, got the T-shirt. What has been retained is therefore de facto Lutheran.
