Gottesdienst Events in Ft. Wayne Jan 16-19, 2023
Many people will be in Ft. Wayne for the annual symposia at CTSFW. Gottesdienst will host two of its events at Redeemer that can work alone or piggy back on the symposia.
Super Winkle
The first is what we are calling a “Super Winkel.” It will run on Monday, January 16th before the festivities at the Seminary actually begin. This is our 23rd year of hosting an event on this day. There is no registration or cost to attend. Participants are welcome to come and go as they need to. Clergy and lay are both welcome. Several of the Gottesdienst editors and bloggers will be present. We will start at 8:30 with Matins. From 9:15-noon we will study the Gospels from PreLent, Ash Wednesday, and Invocabit. Those are: Matt 20:1-16, Luke 8: 4-15, Luke 18: 31-43, Matt 6: 1-6, 16-21, and Matt 4:1-11. Lunch will be delivered, for those who want it, by one of our faithful members but each will bear his own cost. The afternoon will begin at 1:00 with casuistry, include a singing lesson, and pick back up with the Gospels as time allows. Vespers will be sung at 4:00 pm. Dinner will be pizza, again picked up by our member. and delivered at 5:00pm . The cost of the pizza will be underwritten by a Thrivent Action grant but there will be some per person cost. Draft, craft beer will be available for a donation of $2 for 12 oz. That dinner will flow into a Gemülichkeit. Snacks will be provided by Thrivent.
Gottesdienst Reception
The second event is a reception on Wednesday evening. January 18th, from 6pm until 9pm This is being sponsored by LCEF. They will provide snacks and beer. If we run out of LCEF beer, Gottesdienst will pick up the tab. The event is meant to be a time for us to mingle and show our appreciation for the Gottesdienst Crowd and has not formal program. Thanks to LCEF for helping this to happen at no or very little cost to Gottesdienst and at no cost to the participants.
