Summer appeal!

Dear friends of the Lutheran Liturgy,

Our journal has been making its mark for over 25 years by the grace of God, but so much more work needs to be done. We remain dedicated to the continuation of our work, and so are bold to approach you, our faithful readers, to ask again for your support. The dignity of Christian worship is not an option, so on the one hand we believe it is important to help educate the Church about matters pertaining to liturgy and the Gospel, and on the other hand we cannot acquiesce and sit idly by as long as the holy place is subjected to mockery and sacrilege.

Gottesdienst exists to promote the liturgy, as you know. Donations keep the prices low, enabling the journal to be read by more people. The Psalmist says, “I believed, therefore have I spoken.” We understand these sentiments, and we likewise feel compelled to speak. With your support, our voices become also yours.

We are also pleased to announce a new book just published, which we will gladly send you as a way of saying thanks for a gift of $50 or more. The handsome book is a compiling of 25 years’ worth of my liturgical observations, entitled Leave It Alone. You’ll Break It (524 pages). A donation of $200 or more also gets you a lifetime subscription.
