Last week some dear members treated us to the annual Christmas Concert of the Bach Society of St. Louis. The Concert featured Mendelssohn’s Cantata Vom Himmel Hoch - From Heaven Above to Earth I Come. It was excellent and I looked around on YouTube for a performance and found this one by an Italian Group singing Luther’s words in a Basilica in Padua, which is also excellent! Who knew that Italians would be singing Luther/Mendelssohn in a Roman Church!?! Enjoy it as you prepare for next week’s celebrations. Here is a translation.
