Gottesdienst’s main focus is the liturgy. And that sets two paths before us. One path is the path of Father Brown. The creation of G. K. Chesterton, Father Brown has great insight into human nature, especially into human wickedness.

“Patrick” commits several fallacies here in his screed against seminary training for pastors.

The Synod voted today to recognize that the Japan Lutheran [sic] Church [sic] has broken fellowship with the LCMS by approving the ‘ordination’ of women as ‘pastors’ and as female ‘deacons.’

As far as implementing a Methodist-style model of ministry with frequent rotations (I believe the standard is every seven years), I disagree. And here’s why.

“Dennis” is, as the kids say, “big mad” about my last post about liturgy.

Although this is not an editorial, I think I do speak on behalf of our editors in saying that we are Liturgical Supremacists. We believe in the inherent superiority of the traditional liturgy over and against “contemporary worship,” all its works, and all its ways.
