Upon St. Michael’s

At the Mass of St. Michael and All Angels, the children of St. Paul’s can be heard singing the tenor as a descant toward the end of the Gloria in Excelsis: “for Thou only art holy, Thou only art the Lord, Thou only, O Christ, with the Holy Ghost, art most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.” Don’t tell me children can’t learn and love the liturgy! And yes, that’s a cloud of incense hanging in the air from the opening procession and then censing the altar at the Introit.
