2006 Sabre Ceremony Report The recipient of the 2006 Sabre of Boldness is the Bishop Walter Obare of Kenya. The Kenyan Church once arose from missionary endeavors of the State Church of Sweden, but now the mother church has become blatantly apostate. Bishop Obare has, in obedience to his own vow of consecration, come to the open aid of the poor resistance movement in Sweden -- the Mission Provence -- in bold defiance of the State Church and with the action of the Lutheran World Federation o dismiss him from his post as advisor thereto. The other nominees were Mrs. Julie Martinez, Bishop Arne Ollsen, Rev. Bengt Birgerssen, Rev.Fr. John Berg, Rev. Fr. James Frey, Rev. Fr. Eric Stefanski. The attendance at the ceremony was estimated to have been around 100 pastors, wives, and others. Chaplain Jonathan Shaw and Rev. Dr. Burnell Eckardt presented the award on behalf of the Gottesdiesnt Editorial Board after Dr. Eckardt's opening statement and after Rev. Shaw led the assembly in 'Absent Comrade Ceremony. |
